How it works

Step 1 -

Introduction

Speak with a writer from Turnbull Memoirs for free. Maybe you already have a clear idea of what you want, or maybe you don’t know where to begin. Discuss your ideas with us and learn more about our process.

Step 4 -

Step back, but stay in touch

Once you are happy with the plan, your writer spends several weeks working on the first draft of your memoir. During this time, they schedule follow-up interviews or send you questionnaires to discuss key passages and gather final details.

Step 2 -

Interviews*

Now, it’s time for a walk down memory lane. Give interviews about your life story over several sessions. Your writer asks you the questions that will help to build your memoir in the way you imagine it.

Step 5 -

Review and refine

The full first draft of your memoir is complete. Read through it in full and request any amendments and corrections. If necessary, you will also have the opportunity to review the second draft and request further amendments.

Step 3 -

First look

A week or two later, you can read a fully written passage and a structural outline for your memoir. Give your feedback: perhaps you want a more lighthearted tone, or to devote a larger share of the book to a particular period of your life.

Step 6 -

Your memoir is complete

Receive your desired number of copies in the post. The binding and cover design will have been approved by you. The text and photographs are printed on high-quality paper that will endure for many generations to come.

*Interviews are conducted by video call. If you would prefer to sit down with your writer in person, this can be arranged for a reasonable fee.
